Service & Shop Policies
Estimates and Diagnostics
All firearms brought in for repair, restoration, customization, or inspection are subject to an initial diagnostic evaluation. Diagnostic fees begin at $45 and may increase depending on the complexity of the firearm or issue. Estimates are provided as approximations only and may change if additional issues, damage, or required parts are discovered during disassembly or inspection. Customers will be contacted for approval before additional labor exceeding the original estimate is performed.
Cleaning Services
Cleaning services are intended to maintain firearm reliability and condition. Firearms exhibiting excessive rust, carbon buildup, corrosion, prior damage, or aftermarket modifications may require additional labor beyond standard cleaning pricing. Deep cleaning services may require partial or full disassembly depending on firearm condition.
Restoration Work
Restoration projects are evaluated individually due to varying firearm condition, age, corrosion, pitting, and prior modifications. Restoration pricing may be billed hourly depending on the complexity of the work required. Raptor Armory does not guarantee that all cosmetic damage, pitting, or imperfections can be fully removed without altering factory dimensions or markings.
Customer-Supplies Parts
Raptor Armory is not responsible for failures, malfunctions, incompatibilities, or damage caused by customer-supplied parts, accessories, optics, or components. Installation of aftermarket parts may require fitting or modification that can increase labor costs. Warranty coverage does not apply to customer-provided components.
Turnaround Times
Estimated completion times are provided as a courtesy only and are not guaranteed. Delays may occur due to parts availability, project complexity, refinishing cure schedules, workload volume, supplier delays, or unforeseen complications discovered during service.
Test firing & Safety Verification
For safety and function verification purposes, firearms may be test fired following repair, installation, or modification services. Customers are responsible for ensuring all firearms delivered to Raptor Armory are unloaded prior to transfer.
Firearm transfers & legal compliance
All firearm transfers are conducted in accordance with federal, state, and local laws. Valid government-issued identification is required for all firearm transfers. Raptor Armory reserves the right to refuse service or transfer requests at its discretion where legally permitted.
Shipping policy
Customers are responsible for all shipping, insurance, adult signature, and handling fees associated with firearms shipped to or from Raptor Armory. Shipping charges vary depending on firearm type, carrier rates, insurance value, and destination.
Labor Rates & Minimum Charges
Raptor Armory maintains a minimum bench fee of $40 for all shop work. Standard gunsmithing labor is billed at $90 per hour. Advanced machining, fabrication, restoration, welding, and precision custom work are billed at $135 per hour. Certain services may be billed at flat-rate pricing depending on the scope and predictability of the work being performed.
Cerakote & Refinishing
All Cerakote, polishing, bluing, and refinishing work is considered custom cosmetic work. Color shades, patterns, and finishes may vary slightly due to lighting, curing, material composition, and manufacturing tolerances. Refinishing may reveal pre-existing imperfections, pitting, scratches, tool marks, or prior repairs not visible before work begins. Turnaround times for refinishing services may vary depending on curing schedules, parts availability, workload, and complexity of the project.
Deposits & Special Orders
A deposit may be required for custom builds, Cerakote projects, restoration work, special-order parts, or projects exceeding standard service pricing. Deposits are generally non-refundable once work has begun or special-order materials have been purchased.
Firearm Storage & Abandoned firearms
Customers will be notified upon project completion. Firearms left unclaimed for more than 30 days after completion may incur storage fees. Firearms left unclaimed for extended periods may become subject to abandonment procedures in accordance with applicable Georgia and federal laws.
Warranty Policy
Raptor Armory warrants workmanship performed by the shop for a reasonable period following service completion. Warranty coverage does not apply to normal wear, misuse, neglect, improper ammunition, unauthorized modifications, customer-supplied parts, or damage caused by factors outside the shop’s control. Cosmetic finishes naturally wear over time and are not guaranteed against scratches, holster wear, impact damage, or abuse.
Liability Disclaimer
By utilizing Raptor Armory services, customers acknowledge that firearms are mechanical devices that require proper handling, maintenance, and safe operation. Raptor Armory is not liable for misuse of firearms following service completion, improper maintenance by the owner, unauthorized modifications performed after service, or damages resulting from circumstances outside the shop’s control.
